Ski-Fit BootCamp - Wimbledon Jan 19

Get yourself ski-fit prior to your holiday and ensure you get the most out of your trip.

Our Ski-Fit Programme will help you to:

- Strengthen your whole body, with particular focus on the legs and core
- Improve your muscular endurance & stamina
- Sharpen your balance and agility
- Build your aerobic fitness

This is a progressive 6-week course, with each session building on what we worked on the previous week.

Time: 6.15 - 7.00am
Place: South Park Gardens
Dates: Every Tuesday morning from 8th Jan through to 12 February 2019
Cost: £54 for the 6 sessions
(NB, if you miss a session, you're welcome to make it up at one of our regular Fit In The Park classes).

HIIT BootCamp In South Park Gardens

Our early morning HIIT BOOTCAMP starts on Monday in SOUTH PARK GARDENS!

The workouts will be fast-paced and will focus on a different muscle group each day. You'll burn calories, and strengthen and tone your whole body. Just in time for the party season!

You can squeeze this BootCamp in before work, and before the rest of the family gets up (so no excuses). Just give us everything you've got for 45 minutes a day, every day.

We will warmly welcome all abilities. We love seeing clients of all ages, sizes and fitness levels join us in the park (so again, no excuses!).

The classes are fun, energising and motivating. No class is ever the same (you'll never get bored!).

Exercise your Eggs Off In Wimbledon!

Yes, we're thinking about Easter all ready and we'll no doubt have you hopping around the park like a bunny at some point.

But before I get into that, it's Mother's Day in a couple of weeks time, and if you need (or would like to drop hints for) a fantastic gift, why not go for one of our Gift Vouchers? Or book that amazing woman in your life onto one of our BootCamps or courses (see below). It'll last longer than flowers and is better for the waistline than chocolates!

On that note, if you'd like to burn-off any chocolaty indulgences in advance, we're running a special class on Good Friday (14 April) at 9.30am in South Park Gardens which will replace our regular Fit In The Park session. It's suitable for all levels and abilities and we'd love to see your husbands, wives, partners, family & friends there too. Children can come & play nearby & babies in buggies are welcome (they all remain your responsibility!).

It's a busy time of year for everyone, so we'd like to know how many people will be joining us. We’re therefore asking everyone to book & pay in advance (your class passes won't be valid). It's just £8 for 1 person or £14 for 2. Hop over to our BootCamp page to sign-up now while you're still thinking about it.

I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that our Saturday classes in Wimbledon Park and in South Park Gardens will all be running as normal over the Easter period. Unfortunately there will be no Buggyfit classes on Bank Monday, however we'd love to see you all with or without your little ones on Good Friday and Easter Saturday!

As always, you're welcome to drop-in on any of our Buggyfit or Fit In The Park classes (check out our busy timetable online), but it does work out cheaper to buy one of our class passes in advance.

South Park Gardens BootCamp - Last Call!

After kicking off our March BootCamp in Wimbledon Park this week, we're now getting excited about launching our South Park Gardens BootCamp on Monday. Here's all of the info on what we'll be doing and why you should be there.

When And Where Is It?

Our next BootCamp will take place at 6.15 - 7.00am everyday from Monday 6 March through to Friday 10 March. There will also be a bonus/catch-up session at 7.45am on Saturday 11 March.

We'll be training in South Park Gardens, which is a beautiful park just a 5 minute walk from the Broadway in central Wimbledon.

What Will It Involve?

Each session will have a different focus, incorporating both strength and cardio training.

We'll be mainly be following a format of short bursts of exercise, followed by brief rest periods. This is a great way to burn lots of calories. Even during the rest time, your calorie-burning rate will be high!

Just give us everything you've got for 45 minutes, everyday, for 5 days. We'll do the rest.

Who Will Be There?

People like you! We welcome both men & ladies of all abilities to join us. We're happy to motivate and challenge everyone, from those who are just starting on their fitness journey to seasoned athletes.

Everyone at our classes are very supportive of each other and the camaraderie is immeasurable. There's nothing like a tough workout to help people bond!

The HA team will also be there to motivate you and to get the best out of you. Don’t worry, we also want you to enjoy it and have some fun too!

RESOLUTION SOLUTION!

You can do it fitness

Many of us make fitness resolutions at the beginning of the year, but find that by the end of January the initial enthusiasm and passion begins to fade.

If this sounds like you, it's time to do something different. Get a fresh approach.

It's common to start the year full of ambition. Only to find that that life just gets in the way, and you feel like you're falling off the wagon. To make your resolutions last, the changes you make have to comfortably fit within your current lifestyle. What do you need to do to get results without too much upheaval?

You also need to honestly accept your current health and fitness levels. Do a sanity check on what actually needs fixing. Then, look positively at all of the things you can change, rather than negatively lingering over the problems you can't resolve.

Make a realistic plan that’s sustainable and achievable. Get some advice from friends or professionals to get you on the right track and stay motivated.

Bank Holiday Opening Hours: Wimbledon Park & South Park Gardens

The HA team are all off doing exciting things over the August Bank Holiday weekend & we're guessing many of you are busy too. There will be no classes from Fri 26 Aug (tomorrow) to Mon 29 Aug inclusive.

However we've decided to put on a special one-off Tues evening class on 30 August in South Park Gardens. It'll be 7.30-8.30pm & everyone is welcome, including our Buggyfit mums & Wimbledon Park gang. Just bring your class passes or do pay-as-you-go (£9).

All of our other Fit In The Park & Buggyfit sessions will be going ahead as normal from Wednesday. Check out our timetable for the details.

Make It Happen!

It's summer holiday time! If you're not going away over the next couple of weeks, make sure you join us in the park. We've got a full timetable for you, with only a couple of changes to our Wimbledon Park early sessions (see below).

All mums are welcome to our Buggyfit classes over the summer, including those with older children. Your little or big ones are welcome to play/sleep/eat/read nearby whilst you train (as always, your children remain your responsibility). Head over to our timetable for all the details.

If our daytime sessions don't work for you, why not join us at 6.15am? You can choose to finish at either 7.00am or 7.15am. When it's warm, there's no better time to exercise than in the cool early in the morning. Before work. Before the rest of the family are up. Before you've managed to think up all those excuses not to do it!

Here's the plan for Wimbledon Park early classes over the next couple of weeks. We hope to see lots of you there tomorrow morning! Come into the park via the Revelstoke Road entrance & you'll see us.

Super-fit Claire will be taking both South Park Gardens & Wimbledon Park classes this Saturday. The classes will take place the following times (there are no sessions at 9.00am):

8.00am - 9.00am in South Park Gardens
9.30am - 10.30am in Wimbledon Park

Early riser? Head over to South Park Gardens. Meet in the middle of the park near the water fountain.

Prefer a lie in? Meet us in Wimbledon Park. We'll be training near the Revelstoke Road entrance car park.

Fancy a challenge? Join Claire in both parks & we'll only charge you for 1 class!

Children, partners, family & friends are all welcome to join us in both parks. As always, your class passes are valid at all of our locations.

Monday 31 August - Fit In The Park & Buggyfit

Unfortunately there will be no classes or Bootcamps on Bank Holiday Monday this weekend as the HA fitness team are spending some fun time with their families.

Our regular timetable resumes on Tuesday 1st September, kicking off with 6.15am Fit In The Park in South Park Gardens.

It's only cold if you stand still

Some of my best workout memories are of when we're out there, battling against the elements.
 
You feel invincible, invigorated & pumped with energy. Nothing quite beats it & you just want more.
 
Yesterday, at 6.15am, we charged across South Park Gardens, leaving crazy footprints in the fresh snow. Later on in the morning, our Buggyfit mums powerwalked across a sparkling white Wimbledon Common, with the little ones all tucked up in their buggies.
 
So although we'd prefer it to be dry & sunny, there's still loads of fun to be had outside during the winter months.
 
Wrap up in warm layers & wear gloves & a hat. Remove a layer when you start to sweat & put it back on again if you start to feel chilly.
 
If you wait for the perfect conditions, you'll never get anything done. Somedays you just have to make your own little bit of sunshine.
